Loading... Please wait...Some people go through life and never really figure out what they want to do. Jim was fortunate enough to know from an early age that he wanted to be an artist of some sort. He spent a lot of time drawing, and was mesmerized by any animation or illustration that was well executed. These interests drove Jim to learn more about design, illustration, and character development. By the time Jim got out of high school, he was already doing commercial work for small local shops.
When Jim was 20 he got a job at King Louie International, a fairly large company that manufactures and decorates garments for corporate and retail sales. Jim was given many opportunities for growth, and earned the position of Creative Art Supervisor when he was 25.
In 1997 Jim met Rick Billing in Omaha Nebraska. Rick owned a very successful photography studio, and was a pioneer in digital photography: touring the country, teaching photographers how to convert their studios to digital technology. Rick and Jim worked together to develop a line of Photographic Templates, which they marketed to the portraiture photography industry.
Shortly thereafter, Rick partnered with Dan Foreman to form PhotoWave, a corporation specializing in digital photography products and services. Rick, Dan, and Jim worked together to create a highly successful suite of digital photography products. Several months later Jim made the decision to move his family to Golden Colorado where he had always wanted to live, to accept a job offer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Jump ahead ten years. Jim is now an independent graphic designer. Jim has reunited with Rick and Dan, to form MyPhotoTemplates.com. Jim is the Creative Director and Head Designer. "It is gratifying to come full circle and reunite with two people I respect so highly and enjoy working with so much" says Jim. Jim continues to develop new products for MyPhotoTemplates.com, and is looking for other designers to join him.
